Garstang Postcard
Garstang Postcard
Garstang postcard is from North East artist Emily Ward's beautiful range of art postcards. This postcard has been created from original art by Emily.
Emily Ward’s art postcard captures the charm of the town square in Garstang, and brings it to life with warmth and colour. At the heart of the scene is a tall stone lamp post with two hanging lanterns, its base beautifully decorated with a cascade of flowers.
The blooms are painted in a lively mix of reds, pinks, purples, yellows, and blues, their dotted brushstrokes creating energy and movement. Around the square, characterful buildings in soft golden stone and crisp white walls with slate roofs add a sense of history.
The circular cobblestones beneath the lamp post add rustic detail. Above, the sky glows with a warm halo of yellow blending into cool shades of blue, giving the whole piece a soft, dreamlike quality.

Garstang
Garstang is a picturesque town that beautifully blends history, community, and countryside charm. Its central market, a tradition stretching back hundreds of years, continues to give the town a lively character, while its streets are dotted with quaint shops, traditional pubs, and cafés.
The town’s location, between the River Wyre and the rolling hills of the Forest of Bowland, makes it an ideal base for outdoor activities such as walking, cycling, and canal-side strolls along the Lancaster Canal.
Renowned for becoming the world’s first Fairtrade town, Garstang also represents a strong commitment to ethical trade and community values. With its welcoming atmosphere and balance of heritage and natural beauty, it stands out as a gem in the heart of Lancashire’s countryside.
