Frem on the Tyne bone china cup has been created from an original painting by Emily Ward, a local North East artist.
Inspired by a local North Shields fisherman who invited Emily to do painting of his fishing boat, which was both his livelihood and pride and joy. The commission has been transferred onto Emily's art gifts.
Emily's painting captures the dark skies with flashes of light cutting across through the clouds. The rough choppy seas of a cold winter morning can be seen as the fishing trawler cuts through the swell of the water leaving a trail of sea spray in its wake.

The two piers proudly guarding the Mouth of the Tyne
can be seen all lit up, with the white of the spindrift of the waves. The trawler is navigating its way back up the River Tyne to unload its catch at North Shields fish quay.
