The monastic ruins are surrounded by a colourful field full of dainty pink, blue and yellow flowers. A soft yellow hue blankets the grassy meadow. Emily's characteristic splashes of paint add a colourful touch to her artwork.
Tones of lilac flicker through the sky which is speckled with splashes of yellow and pink paint. The shading over the stonework on the abbey ruins glistens under the evening sun.

Fountains Abbey
Fountains Abbey
ruins are one of the largest and best preserved examples of a Cistercian monasteries in England. They are situated in the vally of the River Skell near the town of Ripon in North Yorkshire.
The Abbey was founded in 1132 by thirteen Benedictine monks who were seeking a quiet life away from the bustle of York. They later became Cistercian monks and had help from labourers known as lay brothers to help with wool production, cattle rearing and lead mining. These all helped to make Fountains a wealthy area.
Fountains Abbey and Studley Royal Park was one of the first places to be designated a NESCO World Heritage site in the UK in 1986.
Ceramic Framed Tile
Each Framed Tile is hand finished by North East Artist Emily Ward. So although your ceramic framed tile is actually a print, no two tiles are identical. Emily hand finishes the tiles by adding extra paint to the ceramic tile.
The framed tile appears as if it is floating inside the frame.
Frames are available in White and Black Frames.
Each frame is 27 x 27 x 5cm
Colours may vary as each tile is printed individually.
