Eastgate Clock, Chester
Eastgate Clock in Chester is one of the city’s most iconic landmarks and a celebrated example of Victorian design. Built in 1899 to commemorate Queen Victoria’s Diamond Jubilee, it stands on the site of the original entrance to the Roman fortress of Deva.
The ornate ironwork structure, with its decorative gilding, intricate details, and striking clock faces on all four sides, sits proudly above the Eastgate.
