Blackpool Tower
Blackpool Tower blends a steel frame construction with ornate Victorian design. The tower is not only an engineering feat but a cultural centerpiece. In 1889 the Mayor of Blackpool attended the Great Paris Exhibition and was so impressed by the Eiffel Tower that he commissioned The Blackpool Tower to be built upon his return. The tower was completed in 1894 and took three years to build
The Tower Ballroom is renowned for its opulent interiors and live organ music. The ballroom hosts many dance events and is also famously used once a year in the BBC’s Strictly Come Dancing.
