Arundel Castle
Arundel Castle is one of the South East of England’s most impressive historic landmarks, located in the picturesque market town of Arundel in West Sussex, overlooking the River Arun. Originally founded in 1067 by Roger de Montgomery, a close ally of William the Conqueror, the castle has stood for almost 1,000 years and remains the ancestral home of the Dukes of Norfolk.
Famous for its magnificent Norman Keep, medieval architecture, stunning gardens, and rich collection of artwork and antiques, it is often described as one of the finest castles in England.
A quirky fact is that Arundel Castle
was founded on Christmas Day in 1067 and has been continuously inhabited for over nine centuries, making it one of the longest-lived family homes in the country. The castle has also welcomed royalty, including Queen Victoria in 1846, and has appeared in several films and television productions.
