Emily Ward is very proud to reveal her new Tommy Statue Artwork. Emily was approached by many past customers requesting that she painted the famous Tommy Statue. 

History

The Tommy statue is a statue situated in Seaham. Tommy is a great war soldier by artist Ray Lonsdale. It sits pride of place on the seafront of Seaham. The statue is made of bronze coloured steel. It weighs 1.2 tonnes.

Local residents are very proud of the Tommy Statue and it has been said that the statue has attracted thousands of tourists which has boosted the local economy. Originally Tommy was a temporary display. 

The local residents loved the statue so much they raised the money to buy it. The amount needed to buy the statue was £102,000. The residents fundraised to raise the money

It is said that there is a time capsule buried under the Tommy statue. The time capsule contains donated items such as a letter from Ray Lonsdale, a Victory medal, War remembrances and childrens artwork. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tommy_(statue)
