The Great East window has undergone major restoration and conservation work for the last 12 years. The 600 year old window is the largest expanse of medieval stained glass in the country.
York Minster
was built between 1220 and 1472 and took over 250 years. Renowned for being one of the finest medieval buildings in Europe.
The first church on the site has been dated to 627 and the Pope recognised the first Archbishop of York in 732.
