The Bowes Museum Keyring

The Bowes Museum keyring has been created from original art by Newcastle artist Emily Ward. These art keyrings are all printed and hand pressed locally in Emily's studio in North Tyneside.

Shimmers of sunlight add a soft pink haze to the cloud filled sky in Emily's artwork, which cast a golden glow over the Bowes Museum.

A beautiful bouquet of purple flowers entices you across the manicured lawn towards the impressive French style art gallery.

The Bowes Museum

The impressive Bowes Museum is an art gallery in the picturesque market town of Barnard Castle in County Durham. It was purpose built to house the art collection of philanthropists John and Josephine Bowes. The museum opened to the public in 1892, sadly neither of the couple lived to see there dream a reality.

The Bowes Museum is home to an internationally important collection of European art which includes masterpieces by the likes of El Greco, Van Dyck, Canaletto and Goya. There is also an award-winning fashion and textiles gallery.

There is a distinctive French style to the building, It was designed with the collaboration of two architects, a Jules Pellechet from France and John Edward Watson from Newcastle.
