Temple of Fame, Studley Royal Water Garden Coaster

Temple of Fame, Studley Royal Water Garden art coaster is by North East artist Emily Ward from original artwork.

This FSC rated hardback coaster is printed and hand pressed in Emily's studio and can be purchased as part of a gift set, with four coasters of your choice.

The rich greens of the leafy trees on the hilltop cast a gentle hue of colour over the wooden columns.

The Georgian folly is surrounded by pretty little pink, lilac and white flowers which brighten up the round rotunda.

Temple of Fame, Studley Royal Water Gardens

Studley Royal Water Garden along with the ruins of Fountains Abbey have been designated a World Heritage Site. The 800 acre estate features the largest Cistercian abbey ruins in Europe, a 18th century landscaped water garden, and a Jacobean mansion. The National Trust own and mange the estate in Yorkshire.

The River Skell runs down from the abbey to the garden, it has been crafted into canals, cascades and tranquil moon ponds. The Cistercian monks changed the course of the river up by the abbey, the Aislabies continued this work to create a scenic landscape garden.

Temple of Fame is on a hilltop on the south side of Moon Pond overlooking the water gardens. The Roman Doric styled columns are made of wood. Originally built in 1729, it was moved and rebuilt between 1770-1780 for William Aislabie.
