St Mary's Lighthouse Whitley Bay ceramic tile with easel is from an original painting by North East local artist Emily Ward. This is a dramatic picture of St Mary’s Lighthouse visible through the white capped waves of the North Sea.
You can feel the power of the sea as the turbulent waves crash about in the stormy waters surrounding the lighthouse. The sky suggests calm is on the way with glimmers of blue and a hint of red from the sun.
About St Mary's Lighthouse
This local coastal landmark lighthouse stands on the tiny St Mary’s Island
which is just north of Whitley Bay in North Tyneside on the North East of England coastline.
Cross over to the small rocky island via a short causeway which is submerged during high tide. Remains of a shipwreck from 1913 can be seen at low tide.
There has been a light on St Mary’s since medieval times when many ships were wrecked near the island. Work began in 1986 to build a new lighthouse.

Ceramic Tile With Easel
Each ceramic tile is made from an original painting by North East Artist Emily Ward.
Each tile comes with it’s own wooden easel so your tile is easy to display.
There is a cork backing on each tile and each tile is individually wrapped in a cellophane bag.
All ceramic tiles are individually printed so there may be a slight variation in colour tones.
Ceramic Tile including the wooden easel is 15cm high x 10cm wide.
