Sissinghurst Postcard

Sissinghurst Postcard is from North East artist Emily Ward's beautiful range of art postcards. This postcard has been created from original artwork by Emily.

The warm honey coloured stone of Sissinghurst's iconic Elizabethan tower stands proudly beneath a beautiful sky washed with soft purples, blues and delicate streaks of white on Emily’s art postcard.

Framed by elegant trees and lush green lawns, the historic building is surrounded by an abundance of colourful flowers that fill the foreground with shades of pink, purple, lilac and fresh green.

The rich colours and lively floral display capture the romance and tranquillity for which Sissinghurst is famous, inviting you to imagine a peaceful stroll around the grounds.

Sissinghurst

Sissinghurst Castle, located near Cranbrook in the heart of Kent, is one of England's most treasured historic estates. Built during the Elizabethan period in the 16th century, the striking red brick tower is the most recognisable feature of the castle and offers lovely views across the surrounding Weald of Kent.

Originally a manor house and later used for a variety of purposes throughout its history, the estate was lovingly restored in the 1930s by writer Vita Sackville-West and her husband, Harold Nicolson.

The historic estate combines romantic ruins, peaceful orchards, and a series of beautifully crafted gardens that change with the seasons.
