Emily’s art cup captures a serene yet lively atmosphere through its soft use of colour and texture. The sky is filled with gentle shades of light blue and soft lilac, blended smoothly together. Fine speckles of white, pink, yellow, and blue drift across it, giving the impression of floating petals or seeds and adding a sense of lightness to the scene.
In the foreground, the flowers form a dense, colourful tapestry. Slender stems rise upwards in layers of pink, purple, blue, yellow, and white, painted in loose, expressive strokes that suggest a meadow in full bloom. These bright colours stand out against the surrounding fresh green tones of the garden, creating a feeling of abundance and vitality. Together, the sky and flowers work in harmony to produce a joyful, airy depiction of the Royal Botanic Gardens at Kew.
