Rochester Castle Postcard
Rochester Castle Postcard
Rochester Castle Postcard is from North East artist Emily Ward's beautiful range of art postcards. This postcard has been created from original artwork by Emily.
Rochester Castle stands proudly at the heart of Emily’s art postcard, its magnificent Norman stone walls glowing in warm shades of honey, gold and soft amber. Rich tones of pink, coral and peach blend across the evening sky, creating a backdrop that is filled with warmth and light.
The foreground is alive with a colourful meadow of wildflowers, where delicate blooms in shades of pink, purple, blue, white and crimson create a beautiful tapestry of colour.
Fresh green foliage and mature trees frame the castle, softening its imposing architecture and adding to the peaceful atmosphere.
The striking contrast between the ancient fortress, the radiant sky and the abundance of colourful flowers creates a joyful celebration of one of Kent's most iconic historic landmarks.

Rochester Castle
Standing proudly on the banks of the River Medway, Rochester Castle is one of England's finest and best preserved Norman fortresses. Built shortly after the Norman Conquest, its magnificent stone keep, completed in the early 12th century under the direction of Bishop Gundulf, has dominated the Kent skyline for over 900 years.
Throughout its history, the castle has withstood famous sieges, including the dramatic attack of 1215 during King John's reign, when part of the outer wall was brought during a medieval siege.
Today, visitors can climb the towering keep to enjoy sweeping views across Rochester and the surrounding countryside.
