It was common to see poppies on the western front during the First World War growing amidst the chaos and destruction. This is one of the reasons why the red poppy is closely associated with war and the casualties of war.

There is a cork backing on each tile and each tile is individually wrapped in a cellophane bag.
All ceramic tiles are individually printed so there may be a slight variation in colour tones.
