Newby Hall bone china cup has been designed from original artwork by Emily Ward. All cups are printed and hand pressed in Emily's studio in the North East.

Emilys art cup captures Newby Hall with a joyful burst of colour, giving the scene a lively and uplifting feel. The sky glows with soft blends of lavender, mauve, and pink, setting a calm yet magical mood. In contrast, the house in warm amber and burnt orange shades, stands proudly at the centre of Emily's artwork with hints of blue in the windows adding cool highlights.

The flowers dominate the foreground, tall stems in purple, blue, and pink rise from the grass, while lower blooms in yellow and white scatter across the garden, suggesting a rich mix of summer flowers in full bloom. The surrounding greenery, in varying shades of emerald and lime, frames the house.

Flecks of white and pastel colour drift across the scene, giving the impression of petals, pollen, or light floating on the air, and enhancing the dreamy, celebratory feel.

Newby Hall

Newby Hall is one of Yorkshire’s finest stately homes, celebrated for its elegance, history, and beautifully landscaped grounds. Situated near Ripon in North Yorkshire, the house was built in the 18th century and later transformed into a refined country residence by the Compton family. Its classical exterior gives way to richly decorated interiors, featuring period furnishings, tapestries, and one of the most important private collections of Chippendale furniture in Britain.

Surrounding the house are award-winning gardens, including formal terraces, woodland walks, and herbaceous borders, which change character with the seasons. Together, the house and gardens create a serene and impressive setting that reflects centuries of English country life and architectural taste.
