Morpeth Chantry ceramic pendant has been created from original artwork by North East artist Emily Ward. This lovely hanging decoration has been hand pressed locally in her studio near Newcastle.

Emily’s art ceramic pendant of Morpeth Chantry presents the historic building in a bright and joyful style. The warm orange and golden tones of the stone glow vividly, highlighting its arched doorway and tall Gothic windows.

In the foreground, a meadow of flowers bursts into a colourful mix of pink, purple, yellow, and blue that dance across this art gift and bring the scene to life.

The sky above is a soft blend of lilac and blue, speckled with flecks of colour that suggest a dreamlike quality. Framed by green trees and nearby buildings, the chantry stands as a radiant focal point, blending history with a sense of energy and celebration.

Morpeth Chantry

Morpeth Chantry is a historic stone building set on the banks of the River Wansbeck in the Northumberland market town of Morpeth. Dating back to the 13th century, it was originally built as a chapel and chantry school, serving both religious and educational purposes. With its distinctive Gothic arches, steeply pitched roof, and sturdy sandstone walls, the building reflects the craftsmanship of the medieval period.

Over the centuries, the chantry has been adapted for many uses, from a school to a courthouse, and today it houses a craft centre, art gallery, and tourist information hub. Standing as a link between past and present, Morpeth Chantry is both a treasured landmark and a vibrant part of the town’s cultural life.
