Morpeth Chantry Greeting Card
Morpeth Chantry Greeting Card
Morpeth Chantry greeting card is from North East artist Emily Ward's beautiful range of blank art cards. This greeting card has been created from original art by Emily.
Emily's greeting card of Morpeth Chantry portrays the medieval building in a radiant, almost whimsical light. Its sandstone walls glow in warm tones of gold and amber, accentuating the graceful arched doorway and slender Gothic windows.
A meadow of flowers stretches across the foreground, alive with splashes of pink, purple, yellow, and blue, creating a playful burst of colour that softens the strong lines of the stone.
Above, the sky blends shades of lilac and soft blue, sprinkled with lively dots of colour that add sparkle and movement. Set against trees and nearby houses, the chantry becomes the glowing centrepiece of a bright, joyful composition.

Morpeth Chantry
Morpeth Chantry is a historic stone building set on the banks of the River Wansbeck in the Northumberland market town of Morpeth. Dating back to the 13th century, it was originally built as a chapel and chantry school, serving both religious and educational purposes. With its distinctive Gothic arches, steeply pitched roof, and sturdy sandstone walls, the building reflects the craftsmanship of the medieval period.
Over the centuries, the chantry has been adapted for many uses, from a school to a courthouse, and today it houses a craft centre, art gallery, and tourist information hub. Standing as a link between past and present, Morpeth Chantry is both a treasured landmark and a vibrant part of the town’s cultural life.
