Horsey Windpump Postcard

Horsey Windpump Postcard is from North East artist Emily Ward's beautiful range of art postcards. This postcard has been created from original artwork by Emily.

Horsey Windpump stands proudly beneath a wide, brilliant blue sky, its elegant white sails catching the light as they rise above the peaceful Norfolk Broads. The calm water in the foreground mirrors the windpump and the colourful summer landscape, creating a sense of tranquillity.

Lush green reeds and vibrant wildflowers in shades of pink, yellow and white line the water's edge, filling the scene with warmth.

Soft clouds drift across the sky, while the rich colours and sparkling reflections capture the joy of a perfect summer's day. Emily’s art postcard cheerfully celebrates the timeless beauty of Horsey Windpump and the peaceful charm of the Norfolk countryside.

Horsey Windpump

Horsey Windpump is a distinctive historic landmark situated in the heart of the Norfolk Broads National Park near the village of Horsey, Norfolk, East Anglia. Built in 1912 by the Horsey Drainage Board, the windpump was designed to drain water from the surrounding marshes into the River Thurne, helping to manage the low lying landscape.

Its striking red brick tower and traditional white sails have become an iconic feature of the Broads, although today the sails are no longer in place. Now cared for by the National Trust, Horsey Windpump offers breathtaking views across the peaceful waterways, reed beds and grazing marshes, and is a favourite spot for visitors hoping to see the area's abundant wildlife, including the famous grey seals that breed nearby at Horsey Gap.
