Hengistbury Head Postcard
Hengistbury Head Postcard
Hengistbury Head postcard is from North East artist Emily Ward's beautiful range of art postcards. This postcard has been created from original artwork by Emily.
Emily’s art postcard is of a tranquil view of Hengistbury Head which is rendered in soft, harmonious tones, where a line of beach huts stretches across the sandy expanse. The colourful beach huts in gentle colours of cool blues, pale greens, soft yellows, and muted pinks fade into the distance.
In the foreground, clusters of flowers in blush, cream, and touches of bright colour create a delicate, textured layer. The sky above is a blend of light violet, powder blue, and faint grey, with cloud forms softly diffused across the horizon.
The beach is depicted in warm shades of sand and pale gold, leading toward the sea, which lies in calm bands of blue and silver, reflecting the softened tones of the sky. A fine scattering of colourful speckles drifts across this postcard, giving it a sense of quiet stillness.

Hengistbury Head
Hengistbury Head is a prominent coastal headland on the south coast, situated between Bournemouth and Christchurch. Overlooking Christchurch Harbour on one side and the English Channel on the other, it features dramatic cliffs, open heathland, and sweeping sandy beaches.
The site is especially notable for its rich archaeological heritage, with remains from the Stone Age and substantial Iron Age earthworks still visible today. Once an important centre for trade with continental Europe before the Roman invasion.
Hengistbury Head is now protected as a nature reserve, valued for both its wildlife habitats and its long and fascinating human history.
