Cheddar Gorge
Cheddar Gorge
is in Somerset on the southern edge of the Mendip Hills, 40 miles from both Bath and Bristol.
At almost 400 feet deep and three miles long, it is England’s largest gorge and attracts 500,000 visitors a year. The weathered crags and pinnacles, make for an awe inspiring natural landscape and scenic view.
The gorge began forming about one million years ago during the last Ice Age when water from melting glaciers formed a river. Over time the river started to carve into the limestone rock which created the steep cliffs seen today. The Cheddar Yeo River gradually made its way underground, which created the famous Cheddar Caves.

The canvas is mounted on a wooden frame. The wooden frame is approximately 2cm deep so will fit snugly against any wall.
