St Mary's Lighthouse Art

St Mary's Lighthouse Art

St Mary’s Lighthouse Art is one of Emily’s favourites. She has painted the Lighthouse for so many different people. Each person or couple has wanted to capture St Mary’s Lighthouse in a different way.

St Mary's Lighthouse Location

St Mary’s Lighthouse is located on the edge of Whitley Bay. It is a focus point of the area and has been used as a venue for many different occasions. The Lighthouse has hosted wedding receptions. Emily is the artist that many people have turned to paint St Mary’s as a keepsake to remember the event.

Activities at St Mary's Lighthouse

The lighthouse also hosts lots of children's parties which include visits up the steep winding stairs to the top. They also do rock pool visits where families can search through the rocks for little creatures.

Emily Ward is based in North shields. This is about 3 miles away from Whitley Bay and 4 miles away from St Mary's Lighthouse. Her St Mary’s Lighthouse art is instantly recognisable.

Emily Ward's paintings of St Mary's Lighthouse

In some of her paintings of the Whitley Bay Lighthouse she exaggerates the rough North Sea. Emily adds splashes all over the paintings which give a feel of movement and the waves crashing against the famous St Mary’s Lighthouse. In fact one of her early paintings is named Wild Waves at St Mary’s Lighthouse.

Secret Messages

Emily has been asked to add secret little messages in her paintings, including her St Mary’s Lighthouse Art. She has cleverly added a message or date into the composition of the painting. No one can see the message but the customer who has commissioned the painting.

She has done this for special birthdays. In fact the last painting of St Mary’s Lighthouse Emily added ten 45th’s onto the painting. They were so discreet no one but the person who commissioned the painting could see them.
